on Lucid Dreaming
Something everyone should try and experience. My belief is that our own minds hold the answers to a lot life's burning questions. Every second, our brains are processing information about every detail around us—everything from our surroundings to the interactions we have with others. Yet, only a fraction of that information makes it to our conscious mind. The rest is waiting to be explored deep within.

Each time we dream, we get a glimpse of what's stored within our subconscious mind. And when we're able to take control of our dreams, we're able to interact with a part of ourselves we hardly know exists.

This interaction, I believe, is the key to self-actualization. Imagine taking control of a nightmare and conquering your fears. Or, imagine speaking with the fantastical characters that manifest themselves in your dreams and asking them to reveal a truth to you. Imagine all that you could learn about who you really are.

I've been fortunate enough to have several vivid lucid dreams in my lifetime. It doesn't happen as often as I would like, but those dreams have changed me forever. In one dream, I spoke to my childhood self. At the time, I was in a dark place in my life, feeling like I hadn't accomplished enough in my 20-something years of living. So when I saw the 12 year-old me, I asked him if I had let him down. He stared back at me and didn't answer. Instead, I felt a rush of pride and joy. It was just the feeling I needed to overcome that stage in my life. And from then on, I've become fascinated with exploring other parts of my mind and learning what's truly hidden underneath it all.
