Part of me wants him to fail. Yesterday, I had to meet with my ex-husband to discuss some parenting issues that required his attention. It’s been five years since our divorce and in his eyes I could see that he’s happy with his life.

I would also like to be happy for him but… I can’t, I haven’t really gotten over it yet. He turned his back on us and robbed me of the only opportunity to raise our kids within the tight knit of what I call “The original family.”

Instead, he is not with us to celebrate the victories or to listen to their frustrations, and on many weekends I’m not with them. It’s another woman sharing the outdoor adventures and experiences.

It was her, not me who took the picture of the first fish my boy caught. Part of me wants him to pay for that. Part of me wants him to be happy. I’ll live with this and sometime someday maybe I’ll get over it.

@VeronicaBee01 Aww..that brought tears to my eyes. You are totally validated for feeling the way you do. Wanting him to fail and basically feel the pain he’s caused you is normal. Everyone goes in thinking they’ll have the fairytale marriage with a happy family. You’ll find your happiness again!

I'm new here
@VeronicaBee01 This made me sad. It doesn’t seem fair. What you’re feeling is completely understandable!! I hope one day, when you have one of your parenting meetings, he’ll see happiness in your eyes.

I think therefore I am
@SherryWine Thank you, I’ve moved on with my life and learned to live it without him. It’s just hard to see my kids growing-up and missing on having their dad around.

@VeronicaBee01 He’s an ex for a reason. You’re better without him and will be happy again. Your babies will always be yours and will forever be loyal to you. Hopefully soon you’ll find the spark back in your eyes and wont think twice about him.
