One of my old college friends became a Social Justice Warrior and we had to stop inviting her to our social gatherings.
She would literally go on a rant for every single thing that according to her is wrong in this world. Being around her was like walking on eggshells. At the beginning of her transformation, we made the effort to bear with the situation by avoiding the topics that could potentially become the source of disputes and disagreements. But each time, she added another one to the repertoire.

Protests, causes, and Twitter wars were her conversational topics. It was unbearable, good God!

Sometimes I wonder if all this passion to help the world “be a better place” is only a masquerade to avoid confronting themselves in the mirror.

@Kesia When the mind is so busy pinpointing the flaws of everything and everyone around there won’t be time for self assessment.

@Kesia I was watching something today that said people like that are just as bad as the opposite end of the spectrum that they’re fighting against, because they are so caught up in their own arrogance that they neglect basic human kindness and therefore miss the whole point. If you’re an asshole to your friends about social issues you believe strongly about, you’re still an asshole. There’s a rational way to share your perspective with others that isn’t hostile. Sorry to hear that your friend chose to express themselves this way, but I say you made the right decision.

@Kesia Thanks for your words. There is a fine line between expressing an opinion and imposing. She was practically dictating the way we should behave and think.

@Kesia Yea, I don’t understand it. So lost in the wrong doings of every single thing. I’ve never seen anything like it
