Hmmmm Here’s a scary thing to. Everything is all about have goals have goals. But does anyone know how to achieve them? No. It’s simple concept, but it’s just crazy that it’s not really taught. It’s so easy to fall into depression when your not working towards anything. Pick something you want to achieve. Example I want to build a bed for my child. So for the next day, write on list to do, measure the space, research ideas on concepts, write down what you will need. Next day write down 3-5 things you have to do next. Accomplish those tasks, then new list the next day. This process goes on until you achieve the end goal. Your bed is built. Anyone is down or feeling depressed, try it out.

Knowledge is my motto
@brettlechnar I know the feeling. I once got laid off, and during the months I couldn’t get hired, I got soooo depressed. The mind needs constant stimulation to keep it sharp and motivated. But sometimes, there are chemical imbalances in the brain that cause feelings of doom and despair, independent of the circumstances. Fortunately, mine was only temporary and I recovered the minute I received the “you are hired” phone call.

@brettlechnar You’re a 100% right. Focus on one thing at a time and each task accomplished will build your self esteem back up. Great job in recognizing the solution to a problem.

@brettlechnar This is a very good point—the key is attainable goals! At least in my personal experience, I’ve found keeping my goals small & making baby steps is the best way to keep busy in the midst of depression. If I aim for something too big & don’t accomplish it right away, it only discourages me & adds to my sadness.

@jenni0220 Do you read, and work on your skill set too? I found that I’m outstandingly more happier reading, and learning. Always working on improvement, and I’m happy you found what is working for you.

@brettlechnar Depression is no joke and I don’t take lightly people making fun of anyone who suffers from depression and feel like people should be more courteous and understanding.
